My hands couldn't play the solo in my head

Reader,

Have you ever realized that you can sing better jazz solos than you can play?

I can sit down at the piano, comp through the changes to a song and sing a solo over top. But, when I actually played a solo with my hands... it didn't sound anywhere near as good as the one I sang.

For years, that was me. It was like my voice and my hands had totally different musical instincts, and my voice was just way better.

Ultimately, I realized this was a gap I needed to fill. I needed to be able to play whatever I could sing. Because, if I could do that, then all of those great ideas I have in my voice can be played on the piano too.

This week's video shows you exactly how to fill that gap for yourself.

(Yes, you'll have to sing... and I don't care if your singing sounds like a dying cat. You cannot sound worse than me.)

One of our members, Ben, reached out asking for some more step-by-step hand-holding on this approach. So, I'm making a follow up video just for you guys. Make sure you are subscribed on YouTube so you'll know when that comes out.

Happy Practicing,
