Playing jazz piano solo has always been my true ambition.
Now, I love playing with other people, but there's something to to be said about just being able to sit and play, when and where you want to. (Plus there are more gigs, and you don't have to split the money...)
I went to an event Geoffrey was hosting a few years back, and hearing him play solo made me reconsider my goal. His playing was so effortless, and so beautiful, it felt like my goal was just a pipe dream, impossible to achieve.
But, then I heard him teach, and my perspective shifted. He made it feel doable again.
